Banana Chocolate Popsicle

These are the easiest banana popsicles you would have ever made. I enjoy them thoroughly throughout summer or whenever I have extra bananas that are about to go bad.
Prep Time12 hours hrs

Course: Dessert

Servings: 6 people

Ingredients

  • 1 Fully Ripe Banana
  • ½ cup Whole Milk
  • 4 tbsp Finely Grated semi-sweet chocolate
  • 1 cup Vanilla bean ice cream (OR 1 cup Plain Vanilla ice cream + 1 tsp Vanilla extract)
  • 1½ tbsp Coconut Oil
  • ½ cup Semi- sweet chocolate chips

Instructions

  • In a blender, add 1 fully ripe banana, ½ cup whole milk, 1 cup Vanilla Bean ice cream OR 1 cup Vanilla ice cream + 1 tsp Vanilla extract.
  • Whiz them together until well combined and smoothie like consistency.
  • Now add 4 tbsp finely grated semi-sweet chocolate to the blender and give it one more whiz.
  • Pour the mixture into the popsicle mold and put them in the freezer overnight.
  • Next day, before serving the popsicle, make the chocolate sauce to drizzle over the popsicle. To make the chocolate sauce, take 1 & ½ tbsp of coconut oil and ½ cup of semi-sweet chocolate chips in a small saucepan. Heat them together on very low flame. Keep on stirring it continuously using a whisk until well combined. Take the saucepan off the heat.
  • Remove the popsicles from the mold, drizzle them with the chocolate sauce using a spoon or dip the popsicles in the chocolate mixture to coat completely.
  • In just one minute the chocolate sauce will harden and become a hard shell once it comes in contact with the cold popsicle.
  • Serve immediately and relish!

Notes

  • In this recipe I have used Ikea Popsicle Mold. The above measurements are perfect for 6 popsicles. If your popsicle mold is big or if you want to make more number of popsicles, double the measurements.
  • Frozen bananas also work perfectly in the recipe.
  • An easy way to remove the popsicles from the mold once they’re frozen, is simply to hold the popsicles in a glass of hot water.
