This Thandai Mix powder is a blend of some of the most nutritious nuts and spices. Each ingredient possesses several health benefits. This Thandai Mix powder comes in very handy when you want to make the refreshing Thandai drink, popsicles etc

Growing up Thandai was associated with the festival of Holi. With this recipe of Thandai Mix, I can have a cool refreshing Thandai Drink anytime throughout summer.

To make Thandai Drink, simply take 1 cup of chilled milk, add 2 tsp of granulated sugar, 1 tsp of rose water, 3 tbsp of Thandai Mix Powder, stir everything together and relish!

Thandai Mix Powder

Ingredients

  • ¼ cup Almonds
  • ¼ cup Cashews
  • ¼ cup Pistachios
  • 10-12 Whole Black Peppercorns
  • 3 tbsp Melon Seeds Magaz beej in Hindi
  • 1 tsp Fennel Seeds Sauf
  • 15-16 Strands of Saffron
  • 2 tbsp Rose petals Optional
  • 1 Tsp Cardamom Powder

Instructions

  • In a blender, take ¼ cup Almonds, ¼ cup Cashews, ¼ cup Pistachios, 10-12 Whole Black Peppercorns, 3 tbsp Melon Seeds (Magaz beej in Hindi), 1 tsp Fennel Seeds (Sauf), 15-16 Strands of Saffron, 2 tbsp Rose petals (Optional), and grind it until you get a coarse powder. Do not over grind, or else the nuts will release its natural oils making it soggy.
  • Run this coarse Thandai mixture through a sieve to get a fine powder.
  • Now mix in 1 tsp Cardamom Powder, and store this Thandai Mix Powder in an airtight container.

Notes

Store Thandai Mix in the refrigerator in an airtight container. It stays fresh for upto 1-2 months.
