What are your thoughts on having dessert for breakfast? Well, look no more! This Chia seed pudding makes for a perfect breakfast or a post workout snack. The best part for me is that I can prepare it in advance the night before, which works best for me on busy weekday mornings. There are many variations of chia seed pudding which I shall share with you in the days to come on this blog.
I would recommend preparing it in mason jars so that in the morning you can simply top it with fruits of your choice, grab it and go.
WHY MAKE CHIA SEED PUDDING?
Chia seed is truly a superfood in itself. It is a rich source of fiber, calcium, and trace minerals including zinc and copper. It is the richest plant source of omega-3 fatty acids. Chia seeds are a complete protein, containing all nine essential amino acids that cannot be made by the body.
Plus, Chia seeds absorb water quickly (up to 10 times their weight in liquid!). Thus, making it ideal to make pudding.
My all time brand of Chia seeds is Bobs Red Mill Organic Chia Seeds (affiliate link), but you can se any that is available at your local grocery store.
To make the chia pudding even healthier, I prefer to use un sweetened Almond milk (affiliate link) instead of regular milk. Also, use honey as natural sweetener and raw cocoa powder along with Vanilla Extract for the flavor.
WHAT CAN I USE FOR TOPPING?
You can use any fruits or nuts of your choice. When I make chocolate chia seed pudding, I like to top them with berries and walnuts. You can also add pumpkin seed.

Chia Seed Pudding
Ingredients
- 1 & 1/2 cup Almond milk (or any milk of your choice)
- 2 tbsp Maple Syrup
- ½ tsp Vanilla Extract
- 2 tsp cocao powder
- ¼ cup Chia seeds
- Handful of Walnuts (or any nuts of your choice)
- Handful blueberries (or any fruits of your choice)
- Handful Raspberries
Instructions
- Take 1 & ½ cup Almond milk in a glass container, add 2 tbsp Maple Syrup, add ½ tsp Vanilla Extract, sieve in 2 tsp cocoa powder and add ¼ cup Chia seeds. Mix everything well together.
- Pour it into mason jars or glasses in which you intend to eat. Refrigerate it overnight and let them set.
- Before consuming, top it with some walnuts, blueberries, raspberries or any other nuts and fruits of your choice.
- Enjoy immediately!
