1Apple
1SheetFrozen Puff Pastry
1tbspGranulated Sugar
½tspGround Cinnamon
Hot water(Big Bowl)
½Lemon Juice
¼CupMelted Butter
All Purpose Flour(for dusting)
1tspIcing sugar(for garnishing)
Instructions
Grease 4 ramekins or muffin tins with some butter and keep aside. Preheat the oven to 400 degree F.
In a small bowl, mix 1 tbsp granulated sugar and ½ tsp of ground cinnamon and keep it aside.
Squeeze lemon juice of half a lemon into a big bowl of extremely hot water. Then cut the apple in half and remove the core with the help of a spoon. Using a sharp knife or mandolin cut the apple into thin slices in semi-circle shape (refer to the video).
Transfer the apples slices in the lemony hot water bowl. Let the apples soak in this water for at least 20 mins. This process will help soften the apple slices.
Gently roll out the puff pastry dough on a lightly floured surface in the shape of a rectangle. Using a sharp knife or a pizza cutter, slice the rolled out puff pastry into 4 equal strips, approximately 2.5” by 11” (refer to video).
Using a pastry brush coat one strip of pastry with melted butter. Then sprinkle some cinnamon sugar.
Arrange apples along the top of the pastry strip, overlapping each slice by about half.
Starting at one end, gently roll pastry into a rose shape. Place it gently into a ramekin or muffin tin. Repeat the same process for remaining 3 pastry strips.
Bake between 50 minutes and 1 hour. If the apples start to get too brown, gently cover them with foil.
Carefully remove ramekins from the oven and allow them to cool for 5-10 minutes. Run a thin knife around the inner rim of the ramekin to release the roses. Gently remove the Apple Roses and place it onto the serving plate.
Sprinkle it with some icing sugar and serve immediately.
