You can add pickled Onions to your burgers, tacos, salads, sandwiches, etc for that perfect crunch and the right amount of tanginess. I keep pickled onions in my refrigerator throughout the year as they come very handy.

Ingredients
1Medium Red Onion(Thinly Sliced)
1cupWater
½cupApple Cider Vinegar
1½tspSalt(Preferably Kosher Salt)
1tbspGranulated Sugar
Instructions
Thinly slice 1 medium red onion and place it in a heat resistant and airtight glass jar.
Boil 1 cup of water in a pot. Then take it off the heat.
Now add ½ cup apple cider vinegar, 1 & ½ tsp salt and 1 tbsp granulated sugar to the water.
Whisk them all together until the sugar is dissolved.
Now pour this mixture into the glass jar filled with sliced onion. With the help of the back of a spoon, give it a stir.
Close the lid and place the jar in the refrigerator for at least 24 hours before eating.
Ready to consume over salads, sandwiches or on their own!
Notes
Pickled onions last in the refrigerator for easily two weeks.
If you like some heat in the onions, sprinkle some dried chilli flakes in the jar before refrigerating.
